Mix water and lye in your quart jar and stir them with a spoon. When the water becomes clear, set aside your mixture and take out your pint jar. In your pint jar, mix your coconut oil, olive oil, and almond oil together and heat in the microwave for a minute. Check the temperature of your lye and water mixture, as well as the oil mixture using the thermometer. Your ingredients’ temperature should be between 95 to 105 degrees which is essential for soap making. When the temperature becomes perfect, slowly mix the oil and the lye mixtures in a mixing bowl and stir continuously for five minutes.
Continue to stir your mixture until it becomes thick and reaches a vanilla pudding color. After you have reached the perfect consistency, you may now add your herbs and essential oils, and pour the mixture into your soap mold. Cover the soap mold in a plastic wrap and wrap it again in an old towel. After 24 hours, you may check your soap’s firmness. A firm and cold soap means that it is done, while a soft or warm soap needs another 24 hours to be finished.
